Yes, there are two return trails allowing hikers to bail out. At railroad tie number 395, you can connect to Ute Pass trail for a quick quarter mile hike back to the trailhead. At about halfway up at railroad tie 1300,you can connect to the Ute Pass trail for a 1.5 mile hike back to the base. About 500 steps above that is the original bail out point that connects to Barr Trail.
